Ford loves new technology designed to make driver's lives safer and easier. The Ford Fusion in particular is often the first model to score the latest, greatest features. It is a Fusion Hybrid, after all, on which Ford's self-driving cars are based.

The Fusion is also getting upgraded LED headlights this year that are promised to make your night-driving excursions less stressful.

The 325-horsepower Fusion Sport V6 model even has a brand-first pothole mitigation system.

One feature that is sure to come in handy in day-to-day driving is Adaptive Cruise Control.

Simply set your cruise control speed. Unlike traditional cruise control systems which require you to brake if traffic slows down, the Ford Fusion scans the road ahead, and slows itself automatically to avoid rear-ending somebody. It maintains a safe following distance at its new speed until you choose to pass, or traffic speeds up again.

If traffic comes to a full stop, the Fusion can even stop completely.

Test out adaptive cruise control on our new Ford vehicles in Council Bluffs, IA at McMullen Ford.
