What would you do with $4.5 billion? Well, Ford Motor Company is going to increase its hybrid and electric vehicle output with an investment of that amount by 2020. What can consumers expect? A new version of the Ford Focus electric car, another 13 new plug-in hybrid, hybrid or electric models, and a focus on plug-in hybrids.
"The company sees plug-in hybrid systems - which allow drivers to operate part of the time on batteries recharged from the grid, and part of the time on gasoline - as the solution many customers will prefer," reads a December 10th Reuters news piece that quotes Ford Chief Executive Officer Mark Fields.
